I’m a BIG fan of winter. There’s something really quite magical in those (admittedly somewhat rare) bright, brilliant blue skies and frost-tipped fields on my way into the office each day. And what’s not to love about cosying up in huge chunky knits on super-chilly days?

However, keeping our winter complexion looking as good as our winter wardrobe can prove more than challenging. As the mercury drops and the combination of icy winds, dry air and central heating take their toll, it’s no surprise we often experience somewhat lacklustre, sensitised and dry skin.

Boosting our beauty routines with a few seasonal essentials is key to rescuing and reviving winter-weary skin … and these five favourites are my secret to smooth, soothed and radiant skin.

As the dry winter air can leave our skin feeling dry and brittle, a good quality oil-based cleanser is a winter skin essential. I absolutely love Moringa Cleansing Balm by Emma Hardie. Not only does it condition skin as it cleanses, leaving it calm, smooth and balanced, but the delicious cocktail of essential oils in the blend also smell incredible!

During the winter months, our skin craves moisture more than ever. Regular moisturising to rehydrate dry skin is therefore an absolute must. My personal recommendation? The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA. Really effective and reassuringly affordable, I love how this lightweight, oil-free cream sinks effortlessly into skin. What’s more, a little goes a long way. Pure skin perfection!

We often forget that winter sun can be just as damaging as its summer counterpart. Keep complexions protected by always applying a high-defence cream or gel. I always use Heliocare 360 Oil-Free SPF 50 Gel. It has a great dry, matte texture that sits so easily on the skin without any shine.

Regardless of our best efforts, sometimes pale, washed-out or tired-looking skin is a winter inevitability. The solution? Our iconic Studio10 Youth Lift Glow-Plexion, of course! Smooth a little of our ultra-light, multitasking, radiance crème, illuminator and highlighter in one for instant all-over natural luminosity and a flawless glow.

Night-time is key to how well our skin recovers from the day. Optimise this with a strong exfoliation and night cream regime. I first smooth on Beauty Pie’s amazing Plantastic Micropeeling Super Drops – the fruit acids and micro-purifying biosurfactants in the formula really refine and brighten my skin. Once that’s soaked in, I apply Beauty Pie Super Retinol + Vitamin C Night Renewal Moisturiser, which I find incredibly rejuvenating. Retinol products are notoriously expensive, but this one is well worth the investment to leave your skin feeling silky, fresh and well-rested in the morning.

Grace I love your range from the youth lift to the plumping blush which has changed my life. However a comment on the models you use. As with lots of cosmetic ranges the models are all younger. I’m betting the oldest is in her fiftues Not reassuring if like me you are in your 70’s!! Just saying. It would be nice to see some who are “really” shall we say Mature.
